Be a Heart Hero!!!!

Just a week and a half until our Jump Rope For Heart Event!! Union Valley students want to be "Heart Hero's" by raising money for the American Heart Association. We have had great success so far with raising money online. So far we are at $390 and we have 14 students registered. It is easy to sign up. Visit heart.org/jump and click on the button "Students Sign Up", then select your state and find our school. Join our team and set up your own web page!!!

You are welcome to come on Feb. 17th during P.E. time to watch our JRFH event. This year we have students from Hutch Juco helping us out. So excited to have them join us!! Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.

Having Fun in 2012

We have started the 2012 school year with rhythm and dance activities. The 3rd/2nd graders have used juggling sticks to work on balance and eye-hand coordination. Kindergarten and 1st graders used ribbon wands to work on rhythm and coordination. Last week we had a blast playing Dance Dance Revolution (3rd/2nd) and line dancing with (K/1st). We will finish this upcoming week with our square dancing unit. Parents are welcome to come during their child's P.E./Music time this Friday Jan. 27th to watch our little square dancers in action.

STACK IT UP DAY....IN ACTION!!

The count is now at 411,391 stackers....and still counting. Enjoy some clips of our students in action!

We Did It!!!!

Union Valley 2nd/3rd graders are part of the Guinness World Record of most people stacking on one day all over the world. So far 372,510 people have been verified with more yet to be counted. We also wanted to "Stack Up" the Reno County Food Bank and students were asked to bring canned food. We collected 136 cans of food!!! Check out the pictures of our day!! Video will be up soon!

STACK IT UP DAY!!!

Union Valley 2nd/3rd graders will be participating in cup stacking activities to be part of a Guinness World Record of most people sport stacking at multiple locations in one day!! Last year we were part of the 316, 736 stackers that participated to break the previous record.

As we attempt to break the record, we also want to "Stack Up" the Reno County Food Bank with food for people in need. Please have your student bring a canned/boxed food tomorrow!

Halloween Fun

We had a lot of Halloween fun the last week of October. We went on a ghost hunt, played pumpkin tag and enjoyed many activities on Halloween!

I would like to introduce Chad Johnson from Sterling College. He is doing his student teaching with our very own U.V. students. He is doing a great job and has been introducing students to many fun scooter activities this week.
